I've got a work computer and a home computer. I've got files on each for both places. I try to be meticulous about placing files in folders to make sure I know where they are and what they are, but at some point, you find that you've got 120 folders with varying depths and levels of specificity. Then you type a document, and you save it, and it's not in the folder you put it in. Did you put it in "Federal Tax Submission Guidlines First Q 2006", or did it accidentally wind up in "Loan Consolidation Second Q 2005".

One of the most under-utilized functions in XP is the hidden "Send To" menu. You see this menu when you right click on a file. The default options mostly suck.

I know you've got a gmail account. If not, why the hell not? I think I've got 5! Anyway, there are lots of fun toys for gmail, although for most of them I suggest that you get a FRESH NEW gmail account, instead of using your regular inbox.
